Job Description

This role will be responsible for supporting and improving overall fixed equipment (piping, vessels, specialty items) reliability. This will be achieved through measurement/analysis of equipment failure and financial impact data, application of industry best practice preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, reliability improvement projects development/execution, and continuous improvement of both equipment and work processes.

Accountabilities:

  • Improve and manage fixed assets maintenance strategy both from strategic and tactical needs.
  • Implement fixed equipment improvement solutions using design modification, upgraded accessories, instrumentation, etc.
  • Specify and review equipment repair plans or procedures for routine maintenance and outage inspection activities.
  • Support and lead incident investigations for uncontrolled releases from fixed equipment.
  • Interpret and analyze equipment condition data to determine equipment fitness-for-service utilizing applicable engineering codes and engineering best practices.
  • Define and optimize predictive and preventive maintenance strategies using techniques such as FMEA, RBI, Criticality Assessments, etc.
  • Support small capital projects scope definitions for fixed equipment sustenance and improvements. Review IFA & IFC documents for fixed assets.
  • Interface with both internal and external customers for prioritization of the above deliverables, ensuring on-budget, on-time delivery.
  • Explore and implement cost-effective new technologies relative to inspection and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis and reliability maintenance studies to maximize equipment reliability.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of fixed equipment failure modes and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of fixed equipment predictive maintenance techniques.
  • Fluent in root cause analysis methodologies and applications.
  • Knowledge of fixed equipment regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to ASME B31.3, Section VIII, B16.5, API 510, 570, 581, 579, 650, 653, TEMA, NACE.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; SAP skills are a plus.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, P&IDs, and isometrics, and translate to actual field constructability.
  • Strong communicator and able to communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and team-oriented individual.
  • Ability to apply a systematic approach to problem-solving.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably mechanical.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Maintenance Engineering, Reliability, Mechanical Integrity, or Asset Manager role.
  • Full cognizance of plant and related safety standards and procedures.
