About Search Monetization

The Search Monetization team designs and optimizes systems that power Yahoo Search advertising. Our work focuses on delivering relevant, efficient, and high-value ad experiences while ensuring the long-term health of Yahoo’s Search business. Engineers on this team work across backend systems, data pipelines, ML modeling, and frontend development for Search Ads to implement solutions that have a direct and measurable impact.

Fullstack Engineer, Search Monetization

We are seeking a Fullstack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain systems that power Yahoo Search monetization. You will contribute across backend services, data pipelines, ML modeling, and frontend applications for Search Ads to improve ad efficiency, optimize ad supply, and enable full page monetization strategies. This is a unique opportunity to work on problems that combine large-scale engineering, optimization, and user experience, with direct impact on Yahoo’s core business.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain fullstack applications that support ad delivery, optimization, and reporting.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and backend services to support monetization strategies at scale.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers on developing, training, and productionizing machine learning models that improve ad relevance and allocation.
• Develop and maintain frontend components and dashboards for Search Ads, ensuring high-quality user experiences for advertisers and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure high standards of performance, scalability, reliability, and code quality across the stack.
• Partner with cross-functional teams (commerce, ads, product, research) to deliver business-critical features.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of proven track record driving impact in the industry as a fullstack developer.
• BS in Computer Science, or equivalent degree/experience
• Expertise in fullstack development with a strong understanding of both backend and frontend systems.
• Experience with cloud services, infrastructure, and serverless on common platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, etc
• Experience with data processing frameworks and workflow management tools.
• Solid technical knowledge of web application development with strong command of browser-side client technologies including AJAX, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript and object-oriented Javascript
• Passion for delivering products end-to-end; from ideation through planning and scoping to implementation and experimental A/B testing
• Expertise with modern JavaScript frameworks like React, Next, Vue, Svelte, etc
• Experience and knowledge of best practices around CI/CD (build, document, test, deploy)

The compensation for this position ranges from $111,000.00 - $231,250.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience.The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
