About The Opportunity
The HR Business Intelligence Specialist is a strategic systems leader responsible for the architecture, optimization, and governance of the organization’s Workday ecosystem. This role supports multiple Workday modules and serves as a cross-functional expert in translating business needs into scalable, integrated solutions. The Specialist leads the design and execution of system strategies, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision support, partnering with HR, IT, and business stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and workforce intelligence across the enterprise.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties represent the scope of this position. The incumbent may perform some or all of these responsibilities; however, this is not an exhaustive list. Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.
- Lead strategic design and optimization of multiple Workday modules to support enterprise HR goals
- Collaborate with HR, IT, vendors, and business leaders to deliver scalable, integrated Workday solutions
- Own advanced configuration and troubleshooting across Workday SKUs and business processes
- Oversee Workday release cycles, including testing, impact analysis, and stakeholder enablement
- Translate business needs into scalable system designs and lead end-to-end implementation efforts
- Manage and enhance integrations between Workday and internal/external systems
- Develop and maintain advanced reports and dashboards aligned with HR and business KPIs
- Ensure compliance through robust change management documentation and data governance practices
- Engage with Workday Community and User Groups to stay current on platform innovations
- Serve as a lead liaison across HR, IT, Finance, and external partners for system design and optimization
- Maintain configuration documentation, test plans, and technical specifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Workday Pro, PMP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in HR systems, with deep expertise in Workday across multiple modules
- Proven track record of leading complex system implementations, integrations, and enterprise-wide HR technology initiatives
- Experience working in cross-functional environments with HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors
- Strong understanding of HR operations, compliance, and data governance practices
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic, systems-thinking mindset
- Expertise in business process design, mapping, optimization, and automation within Workday
- Proficiency in Workday reporting tools and dashboard development aligned with business KPIs
- Strong understanding of data architecture, integrations, and system interoperability
- Ability to manage and interpret sensitive and confidential data with discretion
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills
- Active engagement in Workday Community and User Groups to stay current on platform innovations and best practice
