The Supervisor, RA Reporting & Data Analytics, manages a team of planning engineers and/or analysts to produce high-quality statistical reports, data request responses, and visualization products for both internal and external stakeholders. The Supervisor also oversees predictive analytics and data management projects, in coordination with the Resource Adequacy Department’s modeling team, to support the evaluation of resource capacity/energy adequacy trends and risks.

Job Duties

  • Schedules work for direct reports and oversees daily operations of the RA Reporting & Data Analytics team.
  • Oversees the preparation and review of report and visualization products.
  • Helps the Resource Adequacy Department Director and modeling team supervisor manage reliability and energy assurance assessments required for the Texas Public Utility Commission, North American Reliability Corporation (NERC), and ERCOT reliability resource contracting.
  • Manage and assist in the development of forecasting models using statistical and AI/Machine Learning technologies.
  • Serves as the data/graphics support request gatekeeper and primary liaison with the ERCOT Communications Department and other departments on data requests.
  • Oversees quality control and QC improvement initiatives (including automated QC tool development).
  • Ensures work product documentation is well-organized, complete, accurate and stored according to established practices; serves as the Department’s Information Governance coordinator.
  • Oversees data submission activities for NERC, FERC and other external stakeholders.
  • Serves as an ERCOT liaison for the NERC Reliability Assessment Subcommittee (RAS) and Texas Reliability Entity on data reporting coordination; attends NERC RAS meetings.
  • Works with various ERCOT subcommittees, working groups, and task forces.
  • Assists the Director in providing leadership and strategic planning support for the Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years job-related work experience and 1 year in a leadership role preferred in excess of degree requirements. Minimum years of job-related experience can include time in leadership roles.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in supporting grid reliability, resource adequacy or planning studies preferred.
  • Proficiency in the following analytics tools and programming languages preferred:
  • Python, R, Matlab, or other programming environments used for data analysis, modeling and visualization
  • Advanced MS Excel capabilities (pivot tables, data analysis tools, data validation, macros, etc.)
  • Visualization or Business Intelligence tools such as MS Power BI or Cognos
  • SQL Queries

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree: Engineering, Data Science, Information Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline. (Required)
  • Master's Degree: Data Science, Information Management, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline. (Preferred)
  • Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required

Certification

  • Data Analytics (Preferred)

Work Location – Taylor, Tx:

  • Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at a minimum of 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management
  • On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager
  • Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.  
  • Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time

Expected Salary Range:

$107,494 - $182,737
