About Us:
Market Operations is a team of 400 Operations Professionals who support our Financial Markets, CommSec, Trade Finance & Treasury businesses globally. Functions performed are trade confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and client data capture/maintenance, corporate actions across FX, Fixed Income, Rates, Commodities, Derivatives and Equities.
We also provide Middle Office services including Collateral Management, Regulatory Reporting, Client Reference Data maintenance, Client Onboarding, Account Origination, Client Case Management, Estate Management, International Loan Administration, Trade Support and Confirmation services.
Our team is expanding and this is a new position we are looking to fill. The team looks after Commodities products, primarily Base and Precious metals. The team manages several functions including and not limited to metal financing, physical movement of metal, warehouse inspections, vessel screening, Shipper's Letter of Instruction, Warrants, deal validation and daily stock / deal reconciliations.
Your Impact And Contribution:
- Serve as the primary contact for both internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to physical inventory, settlements, warehouse and transit stock, and client releases.
- Manage all documentation associated with changes of title, storage, and warehousing agreements.
- Oversee vessel screening for transit, ensuring compliance with trading activity and insurance requirements, and continuously monitor inventory.
- Execute LME/CME deliveries, warranting, and cancellations, with a comprehensive understanding of LME/CME metal delivery specifications, including the review of producer, shipper, and warehousing documents against contractual terms.
- Coordinate and review warehouse inspections and audits, ensuring timely resolution of any identified issues.
- Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations, prepare reports, and manage required submissions.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience, primarily with base metals; experience with precious metals (especially in settlements and logistics) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record in ensuring timely receipt and delivery for purchase and sale transactions, supported by accurate documentation (including shipment, customs clearance, metal exchange, and insurance).
- Experience in monitoring in-transit stock and managing related documentation and stakeholder communications.
- Familiarity with third-party inspections.
- Demonstrated ability in performing end-of-month and daily stock reconciliations.
- Experience with insurance declarations.
- Knowledge of LME and CME warranting, cancellations, and rent endorsements.
- Exposure to IHS Markit and World Check sanctions screening.
Skills & Qualifications:
- BSc or BA finance or a related discipline is desirable.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate operational errors.
- Confident in communicating and relaying information to stakeholders.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Proactive approach to physical operations, with the ability to anticipate and address potential issues.
