About The Role
What You Need To Know:
Motor Claims Appraisers are responsible for assessing the level and extent of Material Damage to vehicles following accidents. They determine if the vehicle can be repaired and the work that needs to be carried out to repair it. Duties will commonly include:
- Assessing the extent of damage to the structural, body, mechanical, electrical, electronical and interior components of the vehicle.
- Estimating parts and labor costs to repair the damage. Evaluation of Vehicle’s Market Value.
- Promoting repairs vs replacements where possible.
- Promoting Parts Supply scheme when/ where this is applicable.
- Promoting KPG scheme and handling the KPG repairs with the approved repairers; ensuring adherence with the agreement in place and escalating any issues when needed.
- Performing mainly Desk inspections and Field ones if necessary.
- Detecting and reporting Suspicious/Fraud attempts.
- Supporting adjusters’ decisions.
- Preparing estimation forms/templates to indicate repair costs and recommendations.
- Identify Total Losses.
What We’Re Looking For:
- Good understanding of all the processes and stages of vehicle repair (Body, Paint, Mechanics/Electronics).
- Proven Knowledge and Experience on the Automotive Repairs industry is needed; previous working experience in an Insurance Company (Claims) would be considered as a plus.
- Proven knowledge of Parts Market.
- PC literate (word, excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to perform electronic estimations (DAT, Informex).
- Auto Driving license.
- Being updated on vehicles’ mechanical and electrical/electronic developments.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Ability to perform both Field and Desktop inspections.
- English language fluency would be considered as an asset.
