Role Description

Working with the relevant teams across technology this individual will own the of Data Recovery Testing process and governance of the in-scope applications on a periodic basis (including reporting and escalation)

Your Key Responsibilities

• Own the data recovery test (secondary storage recovery test) process strategy by collaborating with the relevant Infrastructure/Technology Towers including operations and engineering teams
• Collaborate with the application owners to ensure the backup definitions are documented in the bank’s central tool
• Collaborate with the application owners to ensure data recovery tests from backup are executed on an annual basis
• Report the Compliance status of backup scheme definitions and data recovery tests, monthly to senior management, 2 LoD IT Risk and other parties on an adhoc basis
• Report & Escalate where required to the CIO-1s of the applications that are no compliant to data recovery testing
• Provide strategic solutions and maintain the roadmap of the Secondary storage function including tooling enhancements / process changes
• Own the UAT testing where required for the tooling enhancements related to the data recovery
• Identify the gaps in the process and document proposals to mitigate the risks involved due to the gaps
• Own / support any audit related topics related to the function

Your skills and experience

Infrastructure

• Strong understanding of infrastructure technology across a broad range of infrastructure products including backup and restore
• Strong understanding of IT Security and resilience
• Strong architectural understanding through all architectural disciplines (business, data, application, technical and security)

Business Management

• Relevant experience working in the Financial Services industry desirable
• Relevant experience in IT Analytics
• Desirable experience in IT Security
• Experience in identifying opportunities for improvement in existing processes/functions
• Strong communication skills are mandatory
