About This Opportunity:
Cenovus is seeking a new Supervisor of Rotating Equipment who will be responsible for the safe and efficient execution of Millwright Craft (Pump Mechanic) maintenance work in their assigned area. The role works closely with an Operations Area Team to determine the prioritization, planning, scheduling, and execution of rotating related work. The role oversees the day-to-day of Maintenance craft employees in the rotating discipline, including setting up the work crews and providing support during the shift as needed.

What You’Ll Do:
- Responsible for health, safety and environmental performance and awareness in area of responsibility to achieve our goals of no accidents, no harm to people and no harm to the environment. Investigates accidents and near misses. Prepares and conducts safety meetings. Coordinates and participates in all refinery safety programs. Maintains a clean, safe work site and ensures adequate housekeeping
- Administers and/or participates in the support of the Employee Policy. That is, everyone knows what is expected of them (expectations/competencies), everyone has open discussions (appraisals) about performance issues, everyone is helped/helps develop employee capabilities (personal development), and everyone will be listened to and involved in improving their team’s performance (feedback)
- Leads optimal utilization of refinery Rotating Craft resources (Millwrights, “Pump Mechanics”) to support process unit mechanical availability for assigned areas of the refinery
- Develops and implements improved job methods, techniques, tools, and equipment for improving overall maintenance effectiveness
- Works with Process Engineers, Area Managers, Area Superintendents, OMC’s, Fixed Equipment Supervisors, I&E Supervisors, Maintenance Planner, Scheduler and Maintenance Engineers to build and enhance teamwork
- Responsible for job preparation activities, including assignment of jobs, reviewing scope of work, identifying, and communicating changes to plan, verifying availability of materials and tools, and confirming schedule viability
- Administers the union - company labor agreement fairly and firmly, with an understanding and consideration for the company’s position on issues. Coordinates' actions and responses with other members of management. Investigates grievances thoroughly and responds at first step. Participates in arbitration hearings as required
- May be required to work off shift and weekend assignments
Who You Are:
- Legally authorized to work in the US
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- 8+ years relevant work experience in a related field required
- Ability to exhibit supervisory skills in directing, appraising, counseling, scheduling, and coaching employees
- Knowledge of the Millwright Craft (Pump mechanic, rotating equipment repair) disciplines and codes/standards, competent in reading technical drawings
- Ability to work in the field, climb, and work at heights
