We are seeking a talented individual to join our Reinsurance Actuarial team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Shanghai. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
We will count on you to:
- Organizes client data, checks data for reasonability, loads data into predictive models, runs the models and shares output with senior actuaries to help determine client's degree of risk
- Performs basic calculations with client data to assess a range of risk exposures and predict outcomes for clients in support of reinsurance transaction process
- Collects and analyzes industry data and updates the trending process in the predictive models to support advisory work
- Conducts research on industry/regulatory developments that affect loss liabilities to determine the impact on clients
- Keeps teams updated on industry-specific and speciality related trends that may affect reinsurance programs/calculations
- Performs simple calculations using the MetaRisk model to help assess outcomes for clients
What You Need To Have:
- Master degree in Actuarial Science/Finance/Economics/Statistics or related discipline (for HK candidate, miminum degree can be Bachelor)
- 1-2 year work experience in actuarial field would be a plus. Open to recent graduates.
- Desire to learn and further develop in the broader risk management field.
- Strong analytical and data skills with the ability to multitask and balance priorities.
- Outstanding computer and technical skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office especially working with Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, independent and diligent.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Open to fresh graduates with relevant internship experience.
