Purchasing Specialist

The purchasing specialist provides support to Sanoma Learning business units by daily management and monitoring of procurement operations in P2P operational area, and ensures compliance to related Sanoma policies.  The purchasing specialist also acts as a key process expert and lead in selected improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Networks and acts as a recognized procurement expert and main point of contact for Sanoma Group and Sanoma Learning business users in P2P operational area. Trains and supports end-users.
  • Supports Procurement and Travel policy adaptation.
  • Develops purchasing processes and solutions, including digitalization opportunities in the areas of purchase to pay and master data. Translates business requirements to practical solutions and successfully implements improvement initiatives to business use.
  • Ensures Supplier Base compliance to Sanoma requirements in the supplier master data process. Performs and develops Sanoma Supplier Know Your Counterparty (KYC) activities and trains KYC process to end-users.
  • Trains and supports Low value Purchasing and Travel & Expense claim management (TEM) process to end-users.
  • Carries responsibility for Sanoma-wide Credit Card end-user guidance and administration.

Formal Requirements

  • University or Polytechnic degree in relevant field or relevant working experience.
  • Experience (3+ years) in process and operations development and purchasing. Knowledge of utilizing automation and AI in procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of e2e P2P process, compliance and risk management. Understanding of procurement related control points.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English (additional languages are an asset).
