SUMMARY:
The HR Generalist supports management and employees across the organization and performs general HR activities to include human resource information systems transactions and operation, benefits and leave administration, onboarding, interacting with and responding to HR questions and request in ServiceNow and completes various project work. The HR Generalist is responsible for maintaining up to date legal/regulatory knowledge and maintains compliance with all company policies and legal rules and regulations.

This is an intermediate level, professional HR position. This position works under minimal supervision and carries out work assignments in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, and accepted HR practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Resources or business-related field required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience required; four (4) years relevant experience strongly preferred
  • Hr Certification Preferred

  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and ability to learn new software systems/databases
  • Prior experience with Workday HRIS a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Results oriented with ability to effectively manage projects and tight deadlines
  • Handle, protect, and use sensitive and confidential data with care and discretion
  • Collaborative work style and ability to work effectively across departments

Major Areas Of Responsibility:

  • Supports HR Business Partners with employee relations, performance review process, coaching, counseling, and terminations
  • Liaison for contracted services related to Worker’s Compensation and FMLA
  • Management and tracking of employee leave requests due to FMLA, WC and LOA
  • Oversee administration of Company-Sponsored benefit plans
  • Resource to management and employees for HR related items
  • Supports System Specialist with updates in HR systems
  • Helps manage the responses to unemployment claims
  • Maintains background and compliance systems (i.e. Provider Trust, Universal Backgrounds, etc.)
  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR department
  • Assess processes to identify areas where improvements are needed through data analysis, feedback, and direct observation
  • Attends in-service trainings and mandatory agency meetings
  • Performs system and file audits ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Understands and practices agency policies and procedures
  • Maintains current knowledge of employment law and compliance
  • Other duties as assigned
