Position Summary

The Head of US Commercial Operations, Insights, Data and Analytics is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving commercial success through operational excellence, data-driven decision making, and actionable insights. This role integrates commercial operations with advanced analytics and market insights to support business growth, optimize performance, and enable innovation in the biotech sector.  

Roles And Responsibilities:

  • Lead the US commercial operations and US insights & analytics, including commercial planning, training and execution, primary and secondary research, forecasting, advanced analytics , launch excellence, incentive compensation program, promotional programs and performance tracking
  • Build and lead a high-performing team focused on analytics, forecasting, insights generation, business intelligence and operational excellence
  • Lead advancements and innovation in operational excellence within the commercial operations function
  • Lead the development and execution of insights and analytics strategies to support brand, customer, and market understanding (including field analytics with HCP targeting, segmentation, etc.) 
  • Develop and implement data-driven strategies to optimize commercial effectiveness. Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, Medical Affairs, and R&D to align commercial and analytical goals
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and collaborative partner to leadership and teams, providing proactive insights that shape commercial strategy and investment decisions
  • Develop and execute comprehensive analytics roadmaps. Drive cross-functional alignment on key business questions and ensure delivery of actionable insights
  • Partner with IT to accelerate digital and technology capabilities, leveraging AI
  • Oversee vendor partnerships and ensure high-quality execution of research and analytics projects
  • Establish and maintain performance dashboards and monitor brand and market performance 
  • Lead competitive intelligence and scenario planning to inform strategic choices in a dynamic rare disease landscape
  • Provide strategic input to business leaders and leverage strong expertise to uncover deeper insights - Champion the use of data and insights to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate standards

Education, Experience And Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, Data Science, or quantitative or scientific field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS, PhD) preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in strategic commercial operations and analytics, and/or insights roles within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in rare disease or specialty therapeutics as well as working in highly competitive therapeutic areas
  • Proven people leadership and operational excellence in Commercial Operations, Analytics, Forecasting, Strategic Planning and Insights generation
  • Strong understanding of US healthcare and biotech market dynamics, including buy and bill
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence at all levels of the organization with a track record of building and mentoring high performing teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize complex data into strategic insights and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python/R) a plus
  • Expertise in AI and how best to utilize/leverage in the insights and analytics area
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
