Department Description

We have a well-established global Marketing and Business Development (M&BD) team, which supports the firm on a wide range of business development, client relationship management and reputational activities. The team is organised in key areas including Practice M&BD, Regional M&BD, Client Development and Industry M&BD, Corporate Communications, and Pitches and Pursuits, which manage strategic global pitches.

Global Regulatory

The Global Regulatory practice group works with our clients to understand the regulatory landscape, analyse the resulting options, and create holistic business solutions that move their business forward. Our team of more than 600 regulatory lawyers delivers experienced counsel across all of the dimensions of regulatory advice, helping our clients:

  • Influence: We help clients to shape the landscape; drafting regulations, submitting proposals, engaging with regulators, and gaining necessary regulatory approvals.
  • Implement: Understanding regulatory complexities and legal requirements is the first step. We help transform that knowledge into concrete options that a client’s business can implement and move forward.
  • Monitor: We monitor the landscape and anticipate challenges to help clients stay ahead. We identify and remediate problems and help turn them into opportunities.
  • Dispute: When the government knocks or a competitor complains, our regulatory, litigation, and investigation teams work together to defend or client’s position. And if the government or a competitor isn’t upholding its part of the regulatory scheme, we help clients advocate for action, administratively or in court.

Our Antitrust, Competition, and Economic Regulation (ACER) Practice

Our ACER team has long been recognised as a market leader in all areas US, UK and EU competition law, advising on the most high-profile, significant and precedent-setting competition matters for generations. We have leading experts for every type of competition issue, and we genuinely understand our clients' businesses. We make a point of embedding ourselves at the heart of our clients’ commercial strategies, working closely with their senior management.

The team is part of one of the largest regulatory practices in the UK. With more than 100 regulatory lawyers and advisors in the UK, our competition lawyers work closely a range of regulatory specialists, to provide holistic strategies for the most challenging issues. It is also an integral part of one of the largest global competition practices, with a team of 135 lawyers in 17 countries.

Our International Trade and Investment Practice

Recognised for being a leader across the full range of international trade and investment matters facing businesses today, we have been providing international trade and investment advice for over 45 years. We offer effective, informed advice on trade policy, legislation, compliance and enforcement, litigation, and administrative proceedings.
