Ready to shape the future of autonomous driving? In this project-based role, you’ll take on a key position in the physical validation of SAE-Level 4 driving functions. With a structured and methodical approach, you’ll help ensure that cutting-edge technologies meet the highest safety and performance standards.

This position is limited until December 31st, 2026 due to its project-based nature. An extension may be possible but cannot be guaranteed.

What You Can Expect

  • You take responsibility for the physical validation of autonomous driving functions, conducting structured and methodical testing on proving grounds.
  • You create and maintain test cases to ensure comprehensive validation coverage and traceability.
  • You derive and formulate test cases based on SOTIF requirements to assess safety-critical scenarios.
  • You plan and coordinate testing activities on proving grounds, ensuring smooth execution in close collaboration with the testing team.
  • You analyze and evaluate test results, identify optimization potential, and actively drive improvements.
  • You document and report issues transparently to suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and fast resolution.
  • You develop and implement test strategies for feature and DevDrop testing to validate software releases.
  • You plan and execute test robotics solutions (e.g., 4active, GeneSys ADMA) and generate realistic test scenarios to enhance real-world validation.
  • You support weekly test operations at the MTT facility in Munich, contributing to the continuity of validation activities.

What You Bring

  • You hold a completed degree in a relevant field such as automotive engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or a comparable discipline.
  • You have experience in physical testing, ideally in the field of autonomous vehicles or driver assistance systems.
  • You hold a Class B driving license.
  • You understand the requirements for autonomous driving functions, including sensor technology, actuation, and environmental modeling.
  • You are familiar with vehicle bus systems (e.g., CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet) and know how to apply them in testing environments.
  • You know the current standards, such as SOTIF and ISO 26262, and ensure compliance with functional safety requirements.
  • You have hands-on experience in creating and executing structured test strategies for vehicle validation.
  • You are proficient in using industry-standard tools such as Canoe, Codebeamer, Jira, and Confluence.
  • You work analytically and with a structured mindset – even when dealing with complex validation processes.
  • You bring team spirit and strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • You are willing to participate in on-site testing at proving grounds.
  • You have good proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
