Join our team to shape the future of mobility with software that moves.
What You Can Expect
- You play a key role in securing and validating automated driving functions using state-of-the-art virtual validation methods.
- You develop, implement, and operate a Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) toolchain for simulating and assessing complex self-driving systems, with a focus on the dSPACE toolchain (e.g., ModelDesk, VEOS, Aurelion) and Matlab/Simulink.
- You integrate existing sensor and vehicle dynamics models into a virtual environment (dSPACE Aurelion/Unreal Engine) to create realistic testing conditions for automated driving functions.
- You design and implement processes for validating SOTIF (Safety of The Intended Functionality) scenarios, including the generation and evaluation of simulation-based test results.
- You create and enhance virtual maps based on real-world data, ensuring they meet the requirements for high-fidelity simulation and validation – using ASAM standards such as OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO.
- You optimize existing scenarios and simulations to identify edge cases and functional challenges in self-driving systems, including the use of STEVE for scenario generation and management.
- You gain insights into the development of standards and methods for simulation-based validation and certification of autonomous driving functions.
What You Bring
- You hold a completed degree in a relevant field such as automotive engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or a comparable discipline.
- You have several years of experience working with SiL environments and virtual testing for automotive systems.
- You are familiar with the dSPACE toolchain (e.g., VEOS, Aurelion, ModelDesk) and Matlab/Simulink for modeling and simulating vehicle systems.
- Experience with other virtual validation tools such as IPG CarMaker or Applied Intuition is a plus.
- You understand the requirements for autonomous driving functions, including sensor technology, actuation, and environmental models.
- You know the current standards, such as SOTIF (e.g., ISO 26262) and ASAM OpenDRIVE and OpenSCENARIO.
- You have experience in scenario generation and management using tools like STEVE.
- You bring strong analytical skills and a structured approach to efficiently implement complex virtual validation processes.
- You are a team player with excellent communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and external partners.
- You have good proficiency in both German and English, written and spoken.
