Impact Statement
The LCARS PMO supports and facilitates delivery of key projects for the Legal and Global Security departments. We manage individual projects for our stakeholders and we administer the portfolio of projects and proposals for the overarching group. In this role, you will make a difference through your hands on work with Project Managers and vendor partners to deliver high profile products used within and outside the organization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Partner with Project Managers in our PMO as we deliver projects and programs that
- help State Street’s LCARS department achieve strategic objectives and/or meet
Regulatory Requirements.
- Participate in strategy and planning sessions with Project Managers and Senior levels
- of the organization and support drafting project plans in MS Project.
- Assist in scheduling/coordinating project related meetings, drafting agendas and
- minutes, and support communication on project updates/progress to stakeholders.
- Maintain organized files and records related to each project; following the approved
- standards, methodology and templates from the LCARS PMO team.
- Support various phases of project development, specifically testing script execution,
- and associated reporting for testing a few of our new products; additionally engage in
- the development of training materials to be used by members of the organization in
- support of project rollout.
- Develop communications on behalf of the PMO and individual Project Managers to both
- internal and external partners / vendors as needed.
- Contribute to the development and expansion of PMO best practices, standardization
- of PM processes, tool, and template development.
- Required Skills or Certifications
- Organizational skills – Ability to keep track of to do’s and follow through independently;
- multitasking skills to balance multiple priorities in order to meet deadlines.
- Communication skills – Ability to write and speak effectively with varying levels of the
- organization; desire to work within a collaborative team environment.
- Judgement skills – Ability to come to conclusions, make effective decisions, escalate
- issues and questions as appropriate.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills – Apply logical and critical thinking, ability to work
- with data and recognize patterns, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations.
- Technical skills – Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word,
- Excel, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with SharePoint and Box a plus. Advanced Excel
- skills (e.g., creating/working with pivot tables, v-look-ups and charts) and PowerPoint
- skills (developing effective presentations) preferred.
Skill Development Opportunities
Working as a Project Coordinator Co-Op will provide insight into the Project Management profession and the Financial Services industry.
This role is an opportunity to gain indepth knowledge of technology project execution environments and impact delivery at the project, program, and portfolio levels, with direct mentorship from our Project Managers.
After working in this role, this individual will have gained a deeper
understanding of the mechanics that impact project execution, laying the groundwork to eventually work in a front-line delivery capacity.
