Job Responsibilities:

Lead the commercial strategy and business development efforts for the distribution of Astro’s owned content across APAC and global markets.

The AVP of Content Distribution will be responsible for defining and executing market-specific distribution strategies, managing client relationships, closing high-value licensing deals, and achieving revenue growth in line with business targets.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and execute the content distribution strategy to drive revenue growth across international markets.
  • Identify and develop new sales pipelines and partnerships with regional and global OTT platforms, Pay TV operators, content agents and more.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while prospecting and closing new licensing opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure smooth deal execution and operational efficiency.
  • Negotiate and close complex commercial agreements, supported by detailed business cases and data analysis.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and content consumption patterns to inform strategy and safeguard market position.
  • Maintain effective reporting and communication with senior leadership on sales performance, market developments, and strategic initiatives.
  • Support and assist in managing and negotiating music rights, including licensing, royalties, and usage compliance.

Requirements:

Who You Are:

  • Degree required
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in sales, partnerships, or business development with a strong track record of closing deals and delivering revenue.
  • Strategic thinker with sharp commercial instincts and confidence in building new pipelines across markets.
  • Independent and proactive. Thrives in fast-moving environments and doesn’t wait for instructions to get things going.
  • Experienced in leading deal execution from pitch to close, supported by strong business case development and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal teams (Marketing, Legal, Finance, Ops).
  • Will work closely with a Senior Associate and Associate - able to guide and empower junior team members effectively.
  • Industry experience in media or content is a plus, but not essential. More important is the ability to sell smart, build trust, and unlock growth.
