We’re looking for a skilled Engineering Manager to join our growing team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities:
- Establish the overall objectives and initiatives of the Engineering Department to support the design and manufacturing of Munters’ air treatment equipment, such as Desiccant Dehumidification Rotor and Cassettes, Energy Recovery Cassettes and Dehumidification systems.
- Provide engineering expertise and support to other departments.
- Ensure all engineering projects and processes comply with Munters' policies and objectives from initiated and implemented Project Management methodology.
- Develop and implement cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specification and quality standards.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes methods and controls.
- Develop ideas for product enhancements and direct design activities from concept design through to feasibility design and detailed final design.
- Interpret requirements and preliminary system design of a configurable product or equipment and produce a design output package that can be used on the manufacturing floor to build the product.
- Coordinate manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
- Provide technical leadership to Design Engineers.
- Participate in the development, validation and implementation of new product designs or improvements to existing design process.
- Understand customer design requirements through the review and analysis of technical specifications, interpreting blueprints, drawings and customer interview.
- Prepare engineering analysis on components, assemblies and engineering change order to develop designed solutions and equipment selection to meet customer needs.
- Release documentation such as component specifications, system drawing (General Arrangements), Bills of Material, Process, Instrumentation Diagrams and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
- Communicate interdepartmentally to resolve issues with focus on root cause analysis and implement process corrections, product improvements or testing process with special respect to control sequences and programming.
- Develop and evaluate processes to measure and improve productivity by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
- Determine improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, suppliers or service applications in customer environments; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
- Execute project plans to meet product specifications, cost budgets, timelines, identification, managing project related risks and design changes.
- Research components, equipment, systems and processes to improve or generate new products, including cost reduction/containment strategies, Quality Control, Safety Assurance and Sales and Marketing technical advisement.
- Research and interface with suppliers on new or improved product component selections.
- Provide technical support for new and existing equipment, ensure mechanical design documentation is complete and accurate.
- Create item masters and bills of material required by manufacturing, purchasing and production control for job processing.
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment and perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or related field plus 3 years of design engineering experience with air treatment equipment in the HVAC industry, including 3 years of experience in product design using software 3D modeling and 2D Drafting tools (SolidWorks and AutoCAD); jigs and tool design for production support; product structure, bills of material and product engineering; and new product introduction and project implementation.
