Founded in 1996 as Landsdale Family Support Association Inc., our original purpose was to provide respite camps for children with disabilities at Landsdale Farm School. In 2009 we changed our name to Family Support WA Inc. as we expanded our services to include young adults. Over the last 29 years we have grown to provide a range of services to people of all ages with disabilities, as well as now operating the Landsdale Farm located in the northern metropolitan suburb of Darch. We are called Strive Together WA Inc. to better reflect the wide range of services we provide in the community.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking a General Manager, Finance to join our Executive Management Team and provide financial stewardship, governance, and insight to underpin Strive’s continued growth and impact in the community. This opportunity will suit an accomplished finance or accounting leader who thrives on balancing strategic vision with operational excellence.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Board and Executive Management Team, the incumbent will lead Strive’s Finance and Payroll teams, ensuring financial sustainability and compliance and across the organisation. This role is pivotal in shaping financial strategy, strengthening risk and governance frameworks, and supporting informed decision making at the highest level.

This is a full-time position based at the Strive Head Office in Darch.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership as part of the Executive Management Team.
• Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing Finance and Payroll teams.
• Deliver accurate and timely budgets, forecasts, management reports, and Board reports.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, taxation, Award, superannuation, and NDIS funding obligations.
• Maintain robust internal controls, financial integrity, and risk management frameworks.
• Partner with managers across the organisation to optimise performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Lead continual improvement of financial systems, processes, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Support grant, tender, and business case development with financial modelling and analysis.
• Manage the service agreement with the organisation’s ICT managed service provider.
• Oversee external stakeholder relationships including auditors, insurers, banks, and regulators.

Selection Criteria

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance (or a related discipline) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role and CA/CPA designation.
• Demonstrated success in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within the NDIS, healthcare, or community services sector.
• Proven ability to provide strategic financial governance and advice at Board level.
• Strong knowledge of compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
• Commercially astute with experience in scenario planning, financial modelling, and business analysis.
• Skilled leader with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage at all levels.
