Position Summary:
The Vice President of Affirmative Business is responsible for the timely, efficient and economical production of products and delivery of services that meet or exceed quality standards and achieve company goals and objectives. This position will be solely responsible to lead the Affirmative Business operation, utilizing advanced methods, such as, lean production, continual improvement techniques, 5S, ISO, and Six Sigma. They will develop multiple product lines to a variety of customers to ensure work opportunities for people with disabilities.
This position requires diverse management experience, strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance monitoring and reporting, personnel management, team building, team management, growth management, corporate compliance, streamlining, client management, and operations workflows. This position oversees and manages the operations for the Affirmative Business work center locations. The Vice President of Affirmative Business will oversee and maintain budgets and working with Affirmative teams to manufacture the highest quality products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing all brands, distribution channels, and deployment of sales for the Affirmative Business operations.
- Responsible for developing the strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization.
- Review of all quoting related to Work Center projects, Data Entry contracts, and Total Facility Management contracts.
- Monitor financial reports, direct changes and process improvements to ensure profitability. Prepare and manage capital project budgets for cost reduction, quality improvement and production expansion at existing or new work centers to support business objectives.
- Oversee all work centers to ensure a safe and injury free environment and enforcement of health and safety policies in work centers.
- Formulate policies, programs, and objectives regarding production schedule, product quality, and cost of manufactured products; maintain a shared accountability for gross margin with strong financial acumen to deliver on cost targets.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Manufacturing Technology from a four-year college or university, and proven track record of business / manufacturing management required.
- Well-developed sales skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, well-developed presentation skills and excellent customer relations skills are imperative.
- Sales, marketing and manufacturing technology experience are critical, preferably in a business-to-business sector.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, required.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TQM, and Six Sigma preferred.
- Working knowledge of office and manufacturing equipment such as computers, CNC machines, presses, shrink tunnels, bundlers, L-Bars, etc.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
