Administrative Assistant – Meineke Oak Lawn Store Auto Repair
**Location:** Oak Lawn, Illinois
**Reports To:** Store Manager
Position Overview
The Administrative Assistant at our Meineke Oak Lawn store plays a critical role in ensuring smooth daily operations, providing excellent customer service, and supporting store leadership. This role requires a highly organized and professional individual who can multitask, communicate effectively, and maintain accountability across the store team. The Administrative Assistant will act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, and store personnel.
Key Responsibilities
· • Keep multiple customers updated on the status of their vehicle repairs.
• Respond to customer complaints while remaining friendly and professional.
• Assist with various shop management tasks including: receiving parts deliveries, returning unused parts, and ordering shop supplies.
• Make sure jobs are paid for before cars are released.
• Check on customers in the store to ensure their needs are being met.
• Lead store personnel in following daily protocols, including: management of keys, daily shop huddles, confirming submission of
required materials to fleet customers, and calling customers at 10am and 2pm with status updates.
· • Perform whatever needs to be done to make the store successful.
Qualifications
· • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. · • 2+ years of administrative or customer service experience, ideally in an automotive, retail, or service environment. · • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail. · • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism under pressure
· • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn shop management software quickly.
· • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to dynamic situations.
· • Demonstrated ability to lead and hold team members accountable to store protocols.
Work Environment
This role requires working in a fast-paced auto repair shop environment. The Administrative Assistant will spend time both in the office handling administrative tasks and in the shop interacting with customers and personnel. Occasional lifting of supplies or parts may be required. A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed are essential for success in this role. Qualifications.
· • Previous administrative, customer service, or office support experience (automotive industry experience a plus). · • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to remain friendly and professional in high-pressure situations. · • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. · • Basic computer skills (MS Office, point-of-sale systems, or similar). · • Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive “do what needs to be done” attitude.
Compensation & Benefits · • Compensation: $50,000 to $55,000 depending on experience
