About The Role

This role leads the operational planning and delivery of Volleyball Australia’s indoor high-performance and pathway programs. It is responsible for the seamless execution of national team activities, including the Senior Men’s and Women’s Volleyroos, Para Volley programs (in collaboration with VA Disability Programs), the Volleyroos for 2032 DPE in Canberra and the National Pathway Programs by managing logistics, budgets and key stakeholder relationships. The position provides leadership to support staff and volunteer managers, oversees uniform and equipment processes, and works closely with coaches, state associations and other partners to create a high-quality environment for athletes and teams to perform at their best. This role excludes operational responsibility for Beach High Performance programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • The operational delivery of the National Indoor Volleyball program (incorporating Senior Men’s and Women’s Volleyroos, Volleyroos for 2032 DPE in Canberra), Para Volley programs (in collaboration with VA Disability Programs), and the National Pathway Programs – Beach and Indoor.
  • Manage, plan, and coordinate the logistics of national camps, domestic and international tours (e.g., flights, transport, accommodation, meals, manuals/handover reports etc.), and other related projects.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for uniforms across all High Performance and Pathway Programs – Beach and Indoor, including (but not limited to) budgeting, design, ordering, stock management, and distribution.
  • Manage the Performance Programs Administrator, providing guidance, oversight, and a point of escalation to ensure responsibilities are delivered effectively.
  • Develop a network of team managers for National Team (senior & junior) camps, tours and competitions.
  • Collaborate in the development and oversees the execution of the budget and finances of the junior and senior indoor camps and international tours
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with State Associations, Pathways Programs, and other key stakeholders to support the achievement of program delivery.
  • Coordinate operational integration between state-based, nationally aligned performance hubs and National Pathway Programs to ensure seamless athlete development pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with the coaches, volunteer coaches and managers of the programs.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience managing staff, including coaching and performance oversight.
  • Expertise in group travel logistics, planning and budget management.
  • Experience in financial reporting and budget forecasting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage athletes, parents, coaches and other stakeholders.
  • Proven success in stakeholder relationship management and collaboration across diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt quickly to new systems.
  • Experience working with children and an understanding of appropriate behaviours.
  • Commitment to VA policies, the National Integrity Framework and the Code of Conduct.

Desirable

  • Experience in high-performance or elite sport environments (national or international).
  • Knowledge of Volleyball’s structure and operations in Australia.
  • Familiarity with athlete management systems and sports-related technologies.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in business, sports management, logistics, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).

Working Conditions

  • Domestic and international travel may be required and at the discretion of senior management.
  • Compliance with all Volleyball Australia policies and procedures is mandatory.
  • A current Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) is required for this role.
