Role Summary:

Within the CaLM / RepoClear First Line Risk department, the role will mainly focus on delivering the Risk Change vital to the RepoClear product. This varied role touches on changes in risk model, processes, new products and default management. In relation with the Product team, the Head of First Line risk and all the necessary SMEs and development team, the daily tasks of this role are

  • Crafting the changes impacting the First Line Risk perimeter, alongside the Product team, the RepoClear Product owner and the Quant
  • Implementing those changes within the Risk system (MLM), acting as a product owner to a tech team of 7
  • Being the point of contact to coordinate incident resolution related to or impacting MLM

What You 'Ll Be Doing:

Risk change projects, specifications and tests

  • Be a hub for SA business development, innovation projects
  • Contribute with the Product team in crafting SA projects from a Risk perspective in coordination with the our Quant
  • Write/Present papers to internal governance
  • Be point of contact to the Global RepoClear Product Owner for any changes and projects impacting the Risk perimeter
  • Be the Product Owner of the First Line Risk system (MLM) to implement the changes on the Risk perimeter with a team of 2 business analysts and 5 developers reporting directly within First Line Risk
  • Generally, accompany product initiatives implementations within SA environment and among SA key partners (systems, operations, procedures, regulatory approvals…)
  • Be a key person to ensure appropriate coordination within SA environment (Second Line Risk, Compliance…) and among SA key partners (LCH Group, LSEG, external business partners and regulators)

Risk Management

  • Act as an interlocutor between the Business line, 2nd Line risk and Operations specialists, where needed to ensure mutual understanding and alignment on concerns and priorities
  • Regular involvement in the daily risk management of the RepoClear / CaLM activity
  • Deep involvement in risk modelling and model ownership
  • Ensure hand on contacts with members regarding RepoClear risk matters, changes and service development
  • Be an authority of MLM processes to coordinate the resolution of incidents

Default Management

  • Involvement in the execution of the management of the Default process
  • Involvement in the design of the default management process and systems; ensuring that default management will still run smoothly in the context of changes

What You'Ll Bring:

  • Confirmed experience of change implementation, with high capacity to prioritize tasks and coordinate delivery teams
  • Knowledge of financial market and repo landscape, trade lifecycle, regulatory demands and market settlement infrastructure, preferably with a good understanding of the role of the clearing environment, regulatory pressures and the future direction of clearing
  • Extensive knowledge of financial services’ industry rules and regulations and an understanding of what best practice means in running operations and broader infrastructure teams
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Strong team ethic and proven track record to work collaboratively across team and department boundaries
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) with ability to work optimally with all organisational levels
  • Experience of addressing and interacting with senior audiences
  • Enthusiastic individual with high focus on delivery, “can do” attitude
  • Innovative, self-motivated person who delivers high quality work consistently with minimal mentorship and a positive work demeanour
  • Tackle complex problems and bring new points of view to existing solutions.
  • Strong sensitivity to operational risk
