Mechanical Design Engineer - Interior

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer – Interiors to join our growing team at Zenvo Automotive. In this role, you will take a leading part in the design and development of world-class interior systems and components for our hyper-GTs, including the Zenvo Aurora. This is your chance to help shape the tactile and emotional experience of high-performance driving - from the inside out.

Key Responsibilies:

• Design and develop interior mechanical systems and components – including seating, trim, instrument panels, and HMI-related structures – ensuring seamless integration with the overall vehicle architecture.
• Generate detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D manufacturing drawings using CATIA, applying GD&T and design-for-manufacture (DfM) principles.
• Collaborate across engineering, production, and supplier teams throughout all phases of the product lifecycle – from concept to production release.
• Support basic FEA and structural simulations for initial validation of interior components.
• Prepare and coordinate prototype part builds for functional and aesthetic testing.
• Compile all documentation necessary for series production and product release.
• Drive feasibility analysis and continuous improvement, ensuring premium quality, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience, ideally in low-volume or bespoke automotive projects.
• Advanced proficiency in CATIA (preferably v6/3DExperience).
• Proven experience with carbon fibre and composite design for interiors.
• Understanding of DfM, ergonomics, and occupant packaging.
• Familiarity with basic FEA and simulation tools.
• Strong collaboration skills and hands-on, problem-solving attitude.
• Ability to thrive under tight timelines and in a multidisciplinary team.
• A passion for high-performance automotive design and innovation.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with homologation requirements for interior components.
• Previous work in motorsport or high-performance OEMs.
• Advanced simulation (CFD, crash, NVH) knowledge.
