Summary/Objective
The Packaging Material Planner will report to the Materials Manager and will heavily interact with Purchasing, Logistics, and Production. The Packaging Material Planner must be very detailed, organized, and able to meet deadlines. This position must work with many different groups and build relationships both internally and externally.
This role is based on-site at our Anderson, South Carolina, location.
Essential Functions
- Ensure stable supply of all required packaging materials to be available at the correct times in sufficient quantities to meet the planned production schedule
- Coordinate and align customer / vendor packaging delivery schedules with internal production schedules
- Communicate with packaging vendors and create Purchase Requisitions in a timely manner to simultaneously support vendor lead times and internal production schedules
- Proactively communicate with customer representatives to ensure adequate packaging supply for customer managed packaging items
- Interface with Customer packaging CMS web portals
- Update various reports through MRP System and excel documents
- Execute data entry in customer web portals and internal MPR system
- Collaborate with warehouse team to implement best practice packaging storage and movement processes
- Develop and implement data structure in MRP system to support automation of packaging material planning processes
- Disposition of obsolete packaging
- Conduct packaging inventories and provide customer reports at regular intervals
- Creation of and support with internal production packaging work instructions / standard work
- Develop alternative packaging solutions as necessary and submit internal/external packaging deviation requests accordingly
- Conduct packaging cycle counts as necessary
- Proactively participate in Kaizen events, and safety events
- Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures (ie, Quality Manual, Associate Handbook, etc).
- Comply with all Techniplas Environmental Requirements and Policies
- Report all Environmental incidents to immediate supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Required Education and Experience
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Plastic Injection Molding background is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to be a reliable, responsible team player focused on producing a top quality product.
