About The Business

COMO Shambhala is an intimate emotional environment where trust and relaxation has to be established the moment our guests are welcomed through the doors. Our guest's time is valuable to them and therefore precious to us; as natural healers we are here to remind our guests to be aware of their body, mind and soul and to guide them to take a journey of self-discovery, awareness and awakening through the proficiency of our team members.

The Position

As a Receptionist, you’ll be the first point of contact for every guest, setting the tone for their journey with us. From the moment they arrive, you’ll help create a seamless and uplifting experience, grounded in genuine hospitality and care. This role is a part-time position with requiring primarily weekend availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly welcome guests and clients upon arrival, offering a sense of calm and presence
  • Ensure that all operational areas and facilities are prepared appropriately to receive guests. This includes leaving the area immaculate at close assuming that spontaneous site tours could take place by management outside of opening hours.
  • Serve herbal teas and refreshments with grace and attention to detail
  • Manage appointments, cancellations, and client enquiries across phone, email, and in person
  • Create a serene and well-presented reception and lounge area at all times
  • Coordinate the therapists daily schedule, to ensure smooth scheduling and guest flow
  • Process payments and manage bookings using our spa software (training provided)
  • Share knowledge about COMO Shambhala treatments, programs, and values
  • Assist with retail, gift vouchers, and wellness events

Ideal Candidate

You will be a natural host with a warm, welcoming presence and a genuine passion for guest care. With exceptional communication and organisational skills, you’ll be able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a calm and professional manner. Previous experience in a spa, wellness, or luxury hospitality environment is an advantage, but above all we are looking for someone who embodies mindfulness, attention to detail, and discretion. A successful candidate will:

  • Thrive in a guest-facing role, creating a serene and uplifting first impression
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and professional phone and email etiquette
  • Be highly organised, reliable, and attentive to detail in all aspects of the role
  • Show flexibility and the ability to remain composed in a dynamic environment
  • Be confident using booking systems or quick to learn new software
  • Take pride in personal presentation, reflecting the elegance and professionalism of the spa
  • Share an enthusiasm for health and wellness

Benefits And Perks

  • Extensive employee benefits across the State Buildings
  • Working with high quality natural international and local products
  • We embrace lifelong learning and professional development
  • Opportunity for career development within COMO Hotels and Resorts World Wide
