Indirect Procurement (IP) is a Finance function dealing with the purchases of goods and services not directly involved in product manufacturing like raw materials. Its scope covers Marketing & Communication, Boutique Construction, Logistics & Transportation, Human Resources, General Services, Professional Services, Travel & Events, Marketing & POS, IT & Telecom, Property & Facilities.

Context:

The Indirect Procurement function at CHANEL aims to achieve two main objectives:

• Maximize value for money while maintaining quality and brand image
• Manage supplier risk in all key areas (ESG, finance, legal, compliance).

BenSca represent a key zone for CHANEL Europe. This market consolidation is very recent. The main expectation in this new context will be to harmonise purchasing processes across the six markets and work on opportunities for synergies.

This position is created to support these markets to improve their operational efficiency, to structure the supplier panel and manage the compliance our partners.

In the position of INDIRECT PROCUREMENT MANAGER, you will be at the heart of the procurement activities of Chanel Europe working on all Divisions (Fashion, Fragrances & Beauty, Watches & fine Jewelry, Corporate) and focus on all Indirect Procurement categories : Marketing & Communication, Boutique Construction, Logistics & Transportation, Human Resources, General Services, Professional Services, Travel & Events, Marketing & POS, IT & Telecom, Property & Facilities.

You will be reporting to the local CFO and to the Europe Head of Indirect Procurement.

You will provide essential support in the evolvement of the Procurement function and its tools, sharing best procurement practices and work directly with internal stakeholders to understand their business expectations and requirements and how they can be met.

This role will be supporting our business teams on the management of the procurement process, from strategic sourcing, professional negotiation, contract management, vendor performance, risk assessment, and overall supplier panel management. You will be expected to provide reporting on the financial performance of projects, the supplier knowledge and risk assessment.

What impact you can create at CHANEL:

Structure procurement process and supplier panel

• Define a common procurement process
• Infuse procurement education and good practices
• Structure supplier panel based on objective criteria such as supplier capacity, performance, costs…
• Support new suppliers sourcing

Protect Chanel’s brand ensuring the compliance of our supplier panel

• Monitor Risk Management (Legal, Finance, Compliance) and Sustainable Procurement
• Support Contract Management

Support business users in their sourcing and tendering process:

• Sourcing projects and RFI (Request for Information) ensuring collaboration with internal business partners
• Design procurement tools (quotation grids, evaluation grid, business review templates…)
• Prepare and support tenders/RFP (Request for Proposals)
• Conduct financial and spend analysis
• Lead professional negotiations
• Award supplier, implement legal agreements & report benefits

Improve overall Procurement & Sustainability Performance:

• Build database to history units cost drivers
• Define guidelines for budget construction based on historized benchmark
• Identify spend optimization (TCO approach, economies of scale) & supplier panel diversification opportunities
• Report your financial benefits to demonstrate function return on investment
• Define and implement Preferred Supplier List with business partners and suppliers
• Monitor Risk Management (Legal, Finance, Compliance) and Sustainable Procurement through different tools and initiatives
• Contract Management and negotiations (SLAs, end-of-year rebates)
• Monitor supplier performance
• Bring innovation and ESG guidelines

Improve S2p Processes

• Create together with business partners and suppliers’ relevant catalogues and forms to make ordering easier to achieve our “No PO, no Pay” ambition
• Ensure the application of financial guidelines regarding payment terms and support payment on time of our suppliers

 What you will bring to this role:

• Broad academic background and at least 10 years’ experience in Indirect Procurement
• Familiarity with sustainability practices and a passion for driving environmentally responsible initiatives.
• Strong commercial & contractual negotiation skills and expertise in buying and supplier sourcing processes and are recognized for your autonomous and analytical skills
• You have a proven ability to establish effective working relationships with senior business partners as well as with external parties
• Interpersonal and conflict management skills will be appreciated as much as your ability to challenge the status quo and bring new ideas to life
• Ability to thrive in a multicultural, diverse, and evolving environment
• Travelling within Europe is required to visit our sites and our suppliers’ facilities
• Fluent English is a must, Dutch or French a plus
