Lead Data Scientist - Establish the foundation for the modern data platform.
A senior who is capable of both hands-on delivery and strategic planning. Experience across data architecture, modelling, governance and orchestration is critical.
Responsibilities
- Define data governance and modelling standards
- Introduce essential tooling for data pipeline management, testing and deployment
- Create and maintain a data domain catalogue with clear lifecycles
- Lead the design of initial high-value domains such as transactions, fees, and routing events
- Ownership of the ML/AI strategy &
- Team leadership, including building out the foundational function
Key Skills and Experience
- A strong blend of software engineering and statistical expertise, with end-to-end delivery capability
- Demonstrated experience in developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining data models
- Proficiency in Python or R, and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A self-starter who is comfortable working autonomously in a project-based, fast-paced setting
- Experience in the payments industry would be an advantage but not strictly required
- Practical experience with AI/ML, GenAI exposure, and architectural decision-making in ML systems &
- A product mindset to guide the whole business toward a data-driven product
