About The Job:
Job Purpose:
To research, develop and implement tools of engagement with the respective HCP cohorts, pharmacy groups and other commercial channels that utilise digital technologies. The purpose of this role is to ensure that Sanofi is able to multiply its presence in the market without necessarily increasing its physical presence in the market. The role covers all Sanofi brands based on the evolving strategy and brand requirements.
Responsible For:
- Developing the routes and methods of engagement for the key Trade channels – Retail Pharmacy, Private Institutions and Public Institutions.
- Driving the adoption of digital methods to increase the exposure of Sanofi, and specific brands, to the market,
- Ensuring that the key Sanofi brands, including Clexane, Epilim and Dupixent, among others, maintain their market positioning in terms of share of voice and other key metrics.
- Advising the Business Managers in terms of their engagement with the respective channels and seeking to maximize the opportunity for the affiliate.
- Negotiating, formulating and presenting identified business opportunities to entrench the Sanofi brand, including, but not restricted to the commercial conditions that could be offered.
- Providing strong support and guidance to the Trade Team in transforming the organization into a digitally driven, market leading commercial operation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver digital tools and models for the use of the Trade Team in the various channels.
- Driving increased engagement with customers through innovation rather than increased headcount.
- Create metrics for measuring the commercial performance of the key brands and franchises within the affiliate as linked to the channel interventions deployed.
- Continuous refinement of the channel strategies together with the respective Business Managers.
- Implement a cohesive and coherent strategy to improve Sanofi’s engagement levels with the retail pharmacy channel and wholesalers.
- Continually assess the GtM strategy to determine the appropriate route of engagement for customers (F2F, Remote, Hybrid or Pure Play) & work with GTMC for development of modalities and metrics.
- Monitor performance and resource allocation to ensure appropriate use of available resources in line with the Global Sanofi strategy, adjusted for local conditions.
About You:
Job-Holder Entry Requirements:
Education:
- Grade 12 with Exemption/Bachelor’s Pass
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Information Technology and/or Business.
- Financial qualification preferable.
Relevant Experience:
- Pharmaceutical sales experience, preferably pharmacy sales experience.
- Knowledge of digital channels and tools to extract business performance.
- Working with the various channels within the pharmaceutical industry commercial operations.
- Proven ability to work within a VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity & ambiguity) environment.
- Experience with Microsoft analytical tools as well as AI (Co-Pilot and ChatGPT).

- Detailed knowledge of the South African healthcare system and channels of supply and service delivery.
- Demonstrates ability to understand financial, regulatory and legislative issues that affect the sales performance of Sanofi, as well as the healthcare ecosystem within which Sanofi operates in South Africa.
- Knowledge of current health care legislation and its impact on the commercial performance of Sanofi SA.
