The HSE Manager will be responsible for developing, leading, and continuously improving the company's HSE programs and initiatives. This managerial level role will require a deep understanding of HSE practices within the drilling industry, combined with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams at all levels. The HSE Manager will play a critical role in shaping the company’s HSE strategy, driving compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture across global operations.
Lead the development, implementation, and management of comprehensive HSE
programs, policies, and procedures across multiple drilling operations
Serve as a subject matter expert, providing high-level guidance and technical support on all HSE-related matters
Collaborate with Senior QHSE Manager to integrate HSSE objectives into overall business plans
Mentor and coach HSE Specialist / Supervisor and operational teams, building HSE competency and fostering a proactive safety culture
Ensure compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and industry
Standards
Lead complex risk assessments and develop strategic risk management plans.
Stay current with changes in HSE legislation and industry best practices, advising the organization on necessary adjustments
Conduct the complete investigation process of major accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring thorough analysis and the implementation of corrective actions
Develop and maintain procedures for all HSE related tasks.
Provide expert guidance on complex HSE issues and emergency response scenarios Design, implement, and maintain advanced HSE programs, including training, emergency response, and environmental protection initiatives
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE programs, making adjustments as necessary to enhance performance and compliance
Develop and deliver advanced HSE training programs for senior management and employees
Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement through mentorship and
coaching of HSE team members
Conduct comprehensive HSE audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement
Analyze HSE performance metrics and trends, providing recommendations for enhancing safety and environmental performance
Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders on HSE matters
Represent the organization at HSSE-related meetings, conferences, and forums
Oversee the preparation of detailed HSE reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of HSE performance, incidents, and compliance issues
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- To possess international accreditation or National level such as CSP, Grad NEBOSH,
10+ years of HSE experience, with at least 2 years in a Managerial role within the energy, oil & gas, or drilling sectors
Extensive knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., ISO 45001 and ISO 14001)
Proven track record of leading HSSE initiatives at a Managerial level, including influencing decision-making and driving cultural change
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and develop both junior and senior-level team members
Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively.
Willingness to travel to Field when need arises and other international locations as needed
