Join BMS Re as an Investment Banking Summer Intern on the Capital Solutions & Advisory team in New York!
Within BMS Capital Advisory, interns will take on a diverse set of responsibilities across our global practice, including providing analytical support on mergers and acquisitions, legacy solutions, insurance-linked security (ILS) offerings, Insurtech advisory services and private capital raising for insurance carriers and insurance services clients.
Interns will collaborate closely with the Capital Advisory team, delivering exceptional service to our clients while gaining hands-on experience in insurance investment banking. You will develop the skills necessary to manage increasing responsibilities and navigate complex financial transactions. Based in our New York office, you will work alongside a team of insurance sector experts, who will support you in cultivating an in-depth knowledge of the insurance and reinsurance industries while gaining valuable transactional experience.
You will:
• Participate in all stages of M&A, equity, debt and ILS transaction executions, from the pitch phase through closing
• Develop detailed financial models to assess performance under various scenarios, analyzing the effects of different capital structures and potential M&A transactions
• Assist in the preparation of company marketing documents and client presentations
• Analyze detailed corporate and financial information to support the execution of financings and M&A transactions
• Perform research and various analyses in support of new business generation
Throughout the 10-week internship, you will participate in formal training, a weekly lunch and learn series and social events and be exposed to senior leaders within the organization. You will be required to work in the NYC office 5 days a week.
We are looking for candidates:
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent; all majors are welcome to apply; minimum 3.4 GPA or above
• Candidates who are entering their Junior or Senior year and have previous finance internship experience are preferred
• Highly motivated, collaborative personalities with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to grasp intellectually challenging, stimulating concepts quickly
• Demonstrates professionalism and client management skills together with strong technical, written and verbal communication skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Ability to grasp broader deal dynamics while maintaining excellent attention to detail, managing time effectively, and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
Hourly rate for this role is $25 per hour. The actual rate offered to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
