As the Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology High Performance Compute team, you will lead multiple technical areas and manage the activities of various departments while collaborating across technical domains. Your role involves applying your expertise cross-functionally to promote the adoption and implementation of technical methods within different teams, helping the firm stay at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements. You will oversee the day-to-day operations and next-generation engineering aspects of the High Performance Compute (HPC) Platform, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of software, infrastructure, operations, technical processes, risk and compliance, and product management processes. Your efforts will ensure that the HPC platform meets critical SLAs for our internal customers with regulatory commitments.
Job Responsibilities
- Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional and operational technology objectives
- Owns accountability for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Owns accountability for achieving the rigorous operational SLAs required by an HPC Platform including adherence to strict risk and compliance requirements
- Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
- Leverages HPC Platform to create innovative solutions for rapidly changing business needs
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm’s culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software and infrastructure engineering concepts and expert applied experience. In addition, expert experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise.
- Experience of running a key operational platform with stringent SLAs
- Experience leading a product as a Product Owner or Product Manager
- Experience of financial management of an in-house product at the multi-million dollar level
- Experience of stakeholder management at a senior level including excellent influencing and negotiation expertise
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience of leading the development and operational aspects of a High Performance Compute Platform
