Job Summary:

Maintains responsibility for the transportation of patients, specimens, and equipment throughout the facility. Provides safe patient transfer assistance using approved assistive devices and procedures in the acute hospital setting.

Job Requirements:

Education And Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Certification: Required

Essential Functions:

  • Consults with bedside nursing staff prior to and after each patient interaction.
  • Assists patient in bed mobility and repositioning.
  • Provides safe patient transfers (bed to chair, toilet/commode, bed to gurney and return).
  • Cleans and maintains equipment, such as wheelchairs, gurneys and lift equipment and ensures availability for next use.
  • Provides meal tray delivery and set up.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
