Ambassador/Lab Couriers - Full Time - Nights

Position Summary

The hours are 7pm to 7:30am, three 12's per week, every other weekend, every other holiday.

Operations Support Ambassador will provide outstanding customer service to all patients, guests, and staff, supporting operational needs of the department. This position involves standing and walking for the entire 12 hour shift. This includes: distributing visitor passes per the UH visitation policy; lab specimen pick-up/drop-off; ED transport assistance; Patient Experience rounds; Meds to Beds courier.  Follow all written regulations/procedures and correctly completes assigned tasks without supervision. Assist in
other areas as necessary.

• Essential Functions
• Politely and promptly meets and greets visitors, patients and staff.
• Distribute visitor passes to approved visitors.
• Patient Experience rounds.
• Meet emergency helicopter medics at helipad for transport to Emergency Department.
• Transport expectant mothers to Labor and Delivery.
• Specimen pick-up/drop-off Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient area.
• Timely delivery of Meds to Beds for prior to discharge Emergency Departments, inpatient.
• Patient Transport Assistance including the Emergency Department, inpatient, outpatient areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our
• patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address
• appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

High School Equivalent / GED Required

1+ years Basic patient care and/or customer service experience Preferred
