Our Team
The Content Acquisition (CA) team is an integral part of the Data department. We are responsible for managing, acquiring, and integrating content and data from exchanges, brokers, sell-side, buy-side, and other types of providers to drive the value of the Bloomberg Terminal and downstream enterprise products. We lead the governance, cost, and quality of the data we acquire, and we collaborate with the wider company to develop our data acquisition strategies ensuring we are aligning with the agendas of our key partners. Within CA, our Pricing Technical Account Manager (TAM) team is responsible for acquiring and managing content which is then made available to our client base. For clients, who use Bloomberg daily, having the ability to access this content in one place makes their workflow more efficient and helps them make more informed decisions. For the content providers, being able to deliver their content to a place where their clients actively operate, ensures greater market presence, and returns on their distribution effort.
What’s the role?
We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced professional looking to manage the partnership with the Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA) as the dedicated Senior Technical Account Manager, based in Tokyo.
JSDA is a self-regulatory organization that functions both as a regulator for the Japan securities industry and as an industry association that promotes the overall health and development of Japan's financial market. Your role will be vital in supporting the calculation service Bloomberg provides to JSDA for their publication of statistical data and price information, which plays an important part in JSDA's industry development and promotion activities. You will handle incoming queries and technical issues related to JSDA data and our calculation service, while also working closely with internal stakeholders including Products, Engineering, Market Application Specialists and more, to ensure our calculation service delivers the desired data outcomes in an accurate, timely, and effective manner. In order to do this, you will need to build a strong and lasting relationship with JSDA, have a deep understanding of their technology and operations, to ultimately offer outstanding support to them.
We'll trust you to:
- Build strong and collaborative relationship with JSDA by having a deep understanding of their technology, Bloomberg's calculation service and workflows, and JSDA's data goals and challenges- Support JSDA in maintaining and improving the custom system related to the data ingestion, calculation and dissemination process- Review enhancement requests from JSDA, assess the feasibility with product managers and engineering, and help coordinate the enhancement pipeline as well as ensure confirmed actions are followed through by the responsible stakeholders- Identify technical solutions to help automate JSDA's workflows and make our internal processes more efficient- Maintain and update the shared project/task management list for weekly reviews with with JSDA- Prepare meeting minutes for monthly Bloomberg-JSDA meetings
You'll need to have:
- Business proficiency or above in Japanese, as all communications with JSDA will be in Japanese - Business proficiency or above in English, as most communications with internal stakeholders, especially with business managers and Engineering, will be in English- Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple client queries and projects simultaneously- Strong ability to gather technical requirements, assess feasibility, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and draft clear, actionable implementation plans- Confidence in leading strategic technical and business relationships - Solid understanding of technical and operational infrastructure related to data ingestion and distribution - Genuine interest in technical troubleshooting and project implementation- Shown ability to collaborate with global team of motivated account managers, technical specialists, relationship managers, product managers and engineering teams to deliver projects or resolve technical issues within desired or required timeframes- Comfort with a high degree of autonomy, and proactiveness to drive for progress while managing priorities from multiple internal and external partners - Meticulous attention to detail- A proactive mindset with confidence to challenge status quo and a real desire to improve practices and processes
