Job Details

This is an exciting time to join the Children, Families and Justice social work service within the Communities Directorate. As an Assurance Officer (Performance and Quality Assurance) you will lead on the development and oversight of data reporting systems across the Children and Families social work service.  

Working closely with colleagues in operational social work teams, the Performance Improvement Team, and Business Technology Service you will bring enthusiasm, creativity, analytical and problem-solving skills to support the service to effectively: 

  • Access data and quality assure service delivery in a timely manner 
  • Develop reporting systems that provide quantitative and qualitative information to measure the impact of support and delivery of strategic plans 
  • Develop and track Key Performance Indicators to analyse data trends across Fife, informing the development of community-based support aligned to local needs 
  • Benchmark local practice against national data 
  • Develop and update business continuity plans and risk registers, enabling timely compliance with wider corporate reporting standards 

The Person

  • You will be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a Degree or equivalent.  
  • You will have experience of working collaboratively with a range of professionals to achieve a shared goal.  
  • You will have experience and confidence in leading projects or working groups. 
  • You will have strong analysis skills, and experience of planning and motivating others to creatively problem solve. 
  • You will be confident in the use of technology, including Microsoft packages that support data analysis and visualisation (e.g. Power BI) 
  • You will be an organised individual who is able to work autonomously to achieve objectives on multiple tasks.  
  • For communication skills, focus on type of skills -persuading, advising, listening. Don’t use ‘excellent’ or ‘good’    
  • You should have the ability to travel across Fife.
