Within this, Finance Operations play a critical role in shaping how finance partners with the business. By simplifying, standardizing, and digitizing core finance processes, GBS enables sharper decision-making, robust financial control, and the release of capacity for growth.

Unilever Finance is undergoing an enterprise-wide transformation to radically simplify and integrate Controllership. As CFOs and market Finance Business partners pivot toward commercial strategy and value creation, the core responsibilities of control, compliance, and risk management must be re-anchored through a modern, scalable operating model. Controllership is being reimagined as a tech- and AI-enabled function, across our market teams, our Hubs and an intelligent Control Tower. This integrated model will drive standardization, automation, and resilience, while delivering predictive insights, fraud prevention using AI-powered tools, and globally embedded governance.

The Transformation Program Director – Integrated Controllership will lead this reinvention—shaping and executing the transformation across strategy, systems, data, capabilities, and change management. The role works in close partnership with Controllership, Tech, GBS, and Data & Insights to build a world-class, audit-ready controllership function aligned with the needs of tomorrow’s business.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Lead End-to-End Integrated Controllership Transformation : Drive the overall program management —ensuring delivery of outcomes across operating model shifts, adoption of AI/ML led Control Tower, and simplification of end-to-end Controllership processes. •Cross-Functional Orchestration : Align coordinate across key functions – GCAD, Regional & Country Controllers, KPMG, and ULE to deliver integrated transformation outcomes which aligns to Finance Strategy and Risk Governance•Governance and Executive Reporting : Set up and manage transformation governance frameworks. Provide regular updates, risk escalations, and decision support to Regional / Country Controllers, GCAD, ULE, and steering committees.•Redesign the operating model for controllership, balancing centralization and local compliance needs. Collaborate with GCAD and local controllers to roll out governance & control standards.•Lead change management Incl communication plan and training programs to embed new ways of working and build capability.•Act as strategic advisor to the Group Controller, GCAD, and Audit to ensure data integrity and audit readiness through centralized Control Tower and Reporting•Ensure Alignment with Project Mirai on Tech Transformation: Collaborate closely with the Project Mirai team to integrate finance systems (SAP, CHI Data Lake, Blackline etc) into end-to-end controllership operations.

Qualifications:

•15+ years in Finance, Strategy, Transformation, or Program Leadership within a large-scale global environment.•Deep understanding of Controllership, Risk Management, and Governance frameworks.•Proven success in leading multi-dimensional transformation programs across functions and geographies.•Experience with technology transformation, digital finance platforms, and AI/ML finance applications.•Strong program governance, executive stakeholder management, and benefit tracking expertise.•Excellent cross-functional leadership skills, with comfort navigating complex change and ambiguity.•Agile, collaborative, and outcomes-focused mindset.
