Directs institutional housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions of hotel rooms and public areas.

As part of the onboarding process for new hires, candidates will be required to complete a background check. Essential Job Functions:
- Establish standards and procedures for housekeeping employees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Comprehends and practices the Horseshoe standards during inspections.
- Attends all required training classes and implement his/her gained knowledge in his/her job.
- Inspects and evaluates the physical condition of the assigned rooms and public areas.
- Submits to management recommendations for maintenance related issues.
- Periodically inventories supplies and equipment.
- Checks on the equipment’s working condition.
- Trains new employees based on the department’s standards.
- Completes and discusses evaluations with team members.
- Takes full responsibility to the daily assigned area (reassign if it is necessary during the day).
- Addresses in a professional manner any guest and employee related complaints.
- Resolve guest and employee related problems.
- Counsels and coaches team members on work related issues; issuing progressive discipline when necessary.
- Support and maintain Horseshoe courtesy guidelines.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.
The term “management” includes duties such as interviewing; training; selecting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work; directing the work of employees; maintaining production; appraising employees’ productivity and efficiency for purposes of recommending promotions or other changes (evaluations); handling employees’ grievances and complaints; disciplining employees; planning work; providing for safety and security; and monitoring or implementing legal compliance matters. Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines employees.
Education/Skills/Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One or more years experience in housekeeping supervision, preferably in a hotel.
Physical, Mental And Environmental Demands:
- Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the hotel
- Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working in assigned areas.
- Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine, and photocopier.
- Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
