Your Role On Our Team:
As a Health & Safety Representative, you’ll support construction site teams by implementing and maintaining Minto’s safety standards. From leading toolbox talks to ensuring regulatory compliance, you’ll play a key role in keeping our sites safe, organized, and inspection-ready—while proactively identifying and addressing risks on the ground.
In This Role, You Will:
Site Safety Oversight:
- Monitor compliance with Minto and Ministry of Labour (MOL) safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits; follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain site safety documentation and training records.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety orientations for new trades.
Daily Operations & Equipment:
- Ensure proper installation of signage, temporary fencing, safety rails, and ramps.
- Maintain and inspect on-site safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, first aid kits).
- Coordinate safety meetings, take minutes, and track infractions.
- Support the implementation of eCompliance tools and training.
Reporting & Collaboration:
- Report safety trends and concerns to the General Site Superintendent.
- Maintain records of trade partner certifications and policies.
- Collaborate with site teams to promote a strong safety culture.
We would like you to have:
- High School Diploma required; post-secondary education in a related field is an asset.
- 2–5 years of health and safety experience, ideally in construction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Clear, confident communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
