Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineer role in a cloud computing environment, or equivalent experience in a similar customer-facing role (e.g., within a professional services, solutions architect, or systems engineering team).
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience with cloud, security, pre-sales/solutions architecture/client engagement, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS, and industry frameworks.
  • Knowledge of product and solution market trends in the cybersecurity industry (e.g., ransomware, attack frameworks, zero trust, etc.).
  • Ability to deliver technical presentations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

You listen and deliver what is most helpful for the customer. You assist fellow sales Googlers by problem-solving key technical issues for our customers. You liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products.

In this role, you will advise clients on security needs, designing Google Cloud solutions, which includes architecture, Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs), and technical presentations to different audiences. You will be the subject matter expert on Google Cloud security: IAM, networking security (firewalls, Cloud Armor), data protection (encryption), and threat detection/response (Security Command Center), and articulate how Google's offerings solve challenges. You'll also build technical relationships, guiding customers through cybersecurity issues, addressing objections, and developing solutions. You will liaise between customers and Google product/engineering teams, gathering feedback to prioritize product enhancements and shape the future of Google Cloud security.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Security Sales and Google Cloud teams to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical and compliance objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers.
  • Work with all Google Cloud Security products to demonstrate and validate solution benefits in customer and partner environments.
  • Support Google Cloud Security opportunities and relationships, own technical aspects of solutions, and deliver technical presentations, product and solution briefings, proofs-of-concepts, and demos to customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver product messaging in an effort to highlight our solutions value proposition using techniques including presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and response documents.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events, where applicable.
