Overview
To provide accountability, assessment and mentoring for teachers in an educational atmosphere that promotes student learning. Provide teacher support to ensure comprehensive instruction techniques and with resources to effectively assist students in achieving grade level objectives and goals. Support school progress monitoring programs.

Commitment to a core set of beliefs about learning, teaching and ongoing professional development.REPORTS TO: School PrincipalJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:∗ Mentors teachers and acts as a classroom facilitator to assess best learning practices for teachers to use in the classroom.∗ Organizes and directs student reading groups to assist teachers with helping their students to obtain high achievements.∗ Plans and delivers instructions after consultation with teachers and testing coordinators.∗ Researches data to prepare lesson plans for demonstrations.∗ Participates in a cooperative effort with faculty and staff to plan, implement and evaluate school wide curriculum programs.∗ Participates in Florida Department of Education required workshops and other trainings.∗ Provides curriculum training to teachers.∗ Maintains contact with teachers, parents and administrators to advise and/or direct in the use of classroom instruction through conferences and written communication.∗ Utilizes technology and current research in technology.∗ Observes classroom dynamics to assess teacher/student needs which will promote a productive learning environment.∗ Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attends training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.∗ Responsible for timely and accurate information they maintain as part of their job responsibilities.∗ Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.ADA COMPLIANCE:Physical Ability: Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (l2-20 pounds).Sensory Requirements: Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination. Some tasks require oral communications ability. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate sounds.Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, animals/wildlife, toxic/poisonous agents, violence, disease or pathogenic substances.EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions as set forth in the OCPS Instructional Personnel Evaluation System procedures manual.12/29/2011
Additional Qualifications
This resource teacher position is housed at the RBELC and will support the Homeless Education Department. A large portion of this role requires answering phone call requests to support the over 8,600 students experiencing homelessness in OCPS. The role also requires the facilitation of professional development to school staff and community partners on the McKinney-Vento Act. The role will require travel to various OCPS work sites and possibly outside agencies and shelters. At times, there will also be a need for night, weekend, and summer work. During those times, an alternate schedule or additional paid work time will be required. The role is fully funded under a federal grant. Preferred qualifications include: experience working in a high school environment or with high school-age students, written and verbal fluency in Spanish, and content creation in Canvas.
