Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Hospitalist

Description

The NeuroMedical Center is seeking a certified/licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with the clinic’s neurosurgeons within Our Lady of The Lake Hospital and Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

This is a full-time evening position Monday – Sunday (7 on 7 off) 12-hour shifts from 6 pm to 6 am for 25 weeks per year. Full-time benefits are included except for holiday time.

The position will direct patient care within the hospitals by performing various duties:

• The NP/PA will assist with consults, write orders, coordinate with consulting physicians, and accompany physicians on rounds. The NP/PA will analyze clinical data; order and/or perform necessary diagnostic tests or procedures.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient’s medical care in collaboration with a physician. Additionally, the practitioner will initiate or modify medical treatment within established medical protocols.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must have a current PA/NP license and be certified in Louisiana.
• Knowledge of EMR systems, organizational skills, and time management a plus.

Salary - $140,000.00

Education Required: Master's Degree

Experience Required:1 year preferred.
