Due to continuous growth and expansion, Pharmathen Pharmaceuticals offers a great opportunity for career development and is seeking to attract a Research Scientist – Organic Synthesis to join our R&D APIs team at Pharmathen’s Pallini premises.
As a Research Scientist the ideal candidate willprovide high quality synthesis and process feasibility and process development and validation in a GMP environment. Will also be responsible for the proof of concept of any assigned synthetic project and support the process development and the completion of the projects up to the technology transfer and the generation of all related documents.
More Particularly:
What You’Ll Do:
- Maintain and follow all laboratory systems, GMPS
- Adhere to safety and housekeeping requirements
- Evaluate and interpret analytical data (in collaboration with the AD Department)
- Support scientifically the development and validation of synthetic processes and improvement of existing ones in all stages of API production development from feasibility studies to technology transfer
- Review literature and proposes to the Organic Synthesis Manager alternatives/solutions to problems raising throughout the project development
- Ensure proper completion of the proof of concept, the synthesis feasibility of assigned synthetic projects and for the proposal of their viability
- Ensure the development and validation of synthetic processes and improvement of existing ones to support all stages of API production development from feasibility studies to technology transfer
- Ensure the proper and efficient function of the lab equipment. Coordinate its maintenance and repairs via SAP
- Prepare and review brief process descriptions, SLPs, characterization reports and impurity profile reports in support of and for inclusion in the regulatory submissions
- Compile, maintain, review and interpret experimental data. Review and approves high quality technical documents required for process validation and DMF compilation
- Ensure that necessary supplies such as: KSMs, raw materials, catalysts, solvents, disposables and glassware are available on time for projects
- Prepare and review SOPs, as required
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
- Minimum MSc Degree in Organic Synthetic Chemistry–PhD in Organic Synthetic Chemistry preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry or in academic Organic Synthetic Chemistry
- Previous engagement with synthetic biomolecules, such as automated (oligonucleotide and/or peptide) synthesis and/or antibody chemical modification, will be considered a great asset
