What you’ll be able to do: 

Senior Software Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the Dearborn office. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Dearborn, MI.  Design and implement scalable microservices for Ford’s e-commerce platform, focusing on cart and checkout functionalities. Lead the development of reliable and user-friendly applications from scratch. Utilize performance optimization and clean code principles to deliver maintainable software. Collaborate with Marketing and Sales teams to enhance the vehicle purchase process, especially for electric and hybrid models. Utilize Java 21, Spring Boot 3, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to create high-performing systems. Involved in cross-functional teamwork with Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, SRE and QA teams to ensure the delivery of quality solutions aligned with business goals. Conduct code reviews, adhere to best practices, and utilize AI tools like Copilot to improve development efficiency. Participate in Agile methodologies, including defining technical features and contributing to user stories. Mentor software engineers and junior software engineers to ensure adherence to best practices and technical standards.

You'Ll Have...

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.   5 years of experience with the following skill is required:  1. Java to develop and maintain robust back-end services with high reliability and performance.  3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Spring Boot to build REST APIs within a microservices framework for modular, scalable e-commerce solutions. 2. Gradle to automate builds and manage project dependencies, supporting continuous integration. 3. Git to control versioning and facilitate collaborative development across distributed teams.  2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:  1. Mockito to create and maintain unit tests that ensure high code quality. 2. Developing cloud-native applications using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and Cloud Storage, to build, scale, and deploy serverless and containerized solutions. 3. Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban) and tools (Rally or Jira) to iteratively plan and deliver incremental product features.  1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Tekton and Terraform to automate CI/CD pipelines while provisioning infrastructure as code for consistent deployments. 2. Apigee Gateway to manage and secure APIs through effective traffic control, authentication, and analytics. 3. SonarQube, Checkmarx and 42Crunch to ensure code quality and security by identifying vulnerabilities and maintaining compliance.

We are offering a salary of $138,486.00 - $199,134.84/yr.
