Overview
As a Consumer Credit Risk Manager II, you will oversee credit relationships and portfolio credit quality of our fintech Partners within CCBX, our Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) division. You will collaborate with internal teams to uphold strong underwriting standards, portfolio analytics, and regulatory compliance. Leveraging advanced data analytics, you will actively monitor Partners’ credit strategies and portfolios, ensuring consistency in policy approvals, audits, and credit product evaluations. Additionally, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance, working cross-functionally to drive credit risk excellence and support the organization's strategic objectives.
RequirementsResponsibilities To Include
- Lead partner credit relationships, fostering collaboration between internal departments and fintech partners.
- Develop, implement, and optimize partner credit policies, procedures, and risk frameworks to ensure responsible lending practices.
- Design and maintain credit models to evaluate partner performance, predict credit outcomes, and inform policy decisions.
- Conduct portfolio analytics using advanced data techniques and forecasting tools to identify credit risks and emerging trends, and to drive data-backed insights.
- Establish and refine credit risk management processes to ensure strong underwriting standards for consumer lending.
- Monitor credit loss rates, delinquency trends, and default rates, applying early warning indicators for proactive risk mitigation.
- Ensure the regulatory compliance of all credit processes with bank policies, banking, fintech, state, and federal regulations, while aligning with industry standards.
- Work closely with internal departments to support the overall credit goals in support of our CCBX division.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with the ability to communicate at all levels throughout an organization.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize credit risk management and partner relationships.
- Advanced problem-solving skills in credit forecasting and data interpretation.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field; OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 7+ years of relevant experience in credit risk management, fintech lending, or financial portfolio analysis.
- Strong ability to apply credit scoring models, forecasting techniques, and credit risk analytics to drive strategic insights, improve dashboard reporting, and ensure compliance with credit and lending regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in credit card and consumer lending product lifecycle, including acquisition strategies, balance transfer, and portfolio management functions such as credit line management, high-risk accounts mitigation, and collections.
- Strong proficiency in data tools and software, including Python, R, or SQL.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analytics and forecasting.
- Intermediate proficiency in other MS365 tools, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word for strategic communications and coordination, executive-level reports and presentations, and formal documentation.
