Seasonal Ski Technician - Denver, CO

Description

Black Diamond is searching for an enthusiastic seasonal sales associate with knowledge of standard ski shop and/or boot fitting practices and procedures to join the team at our Denver, CO location. This employee will service skis and snowboards in adherence with guidelines set out by the individual binding manufacturers they are certified to mount. They will also follow the best practice for heat molding liners and modifying ski boots to ensure the customer has the correct fit while boot fitting.

This position will be expected to work 15-25 hours per week, as well as holidays and weekends, depending on store needs. The position is expected to run for 3-6 months, depending on store needs. 

This position will be responsible for correctly adjusting, sending out and returning demo products. As needed, they will need to work as part of the sales team on the sales floor maintaining a highly positive customer experience by providing exceptional customer service. Must be able to communicate well in a friendly, welcoming fashion. Accurate and efficient use of the POS and Demo systems is mandatory.

Essential Functions:

1. Adhere to safety and liability procedures regarding use of tools, binding adjustment, and rentals/demos.
2. Remain current on industry products and trends to stay informative to customers.
3. Provide excellent service in boot fitting with an emphasis on touring boots.
4. Be able to assess all equipment for service needs.
5. Greet and assist customers with stoke and a smile!
6. Be able to mount a variety of different bindings.
7. Sending customers out safely on our demo equipment and checking it back in at the end of the day.
8. Always maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
9. Fit customers properly for rental/demo equipment.
10. Assist customers with appropriate information, advice, and service.

Requirements

Education:

· Required: High School Diploma or GED.

Work Experience:

• Required: 1 season of boot fitting and/or 1 season Ski Tech services.
• Preferred: 3-5 years of Certification in boot fitting and/or Ski Mounting Certification, 1 retail sales experience.

Skills And General Experience:

· Excellent customer relation skills, knowledge of POS systems, typing, merchandising, product knowledge, knowledge of and/or participation in climbing, back-country skiing, and mountaineering. General background in winter sports. Organizational skills. Ability to handle customer concerns and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude. Responsible, trustworthy, and professional. Ability to quickly learn new procedures. Willing to work on holidays and flexible with scheduling over weekends.
