Job Duties
• General Training & Comprehension - Learn and perform the job assignments of the housekeeper, heavy housekeeper/floor tech positions and, as such, can operate, and teach others how to operate, a variety of industrial cleaning equipment.
• Leadership Development - Assists in training, quality control, and in-servicing of staff according to policies and procedures and federal/state requirements.
• Policies & Procedures - Learn to provide leadership, support, and guidance to ensure that quality standards, inventory levels, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met, including following current applicable federal, state, and local standards, in line with our established policies and procedures to ensure that quality housekeeping services are provided at all times.
• Reporting - Train in maintaining records of income and expenditures, supplies, personnel, and equipment in report format to be delivered to the COO.
• Training - Learning to be responsible for all training, quality control and in-servicing staff to meet facility and agency standards is an essential part of the Manager’s responsibility and includes touring various areas at the facility several times per day to assess work quality and documentation purposes.
• Leadership - Learn to effectively handle managerial responsibilities as well, including but not limited to payroll submission, staffing patterns/schedules, effective coaching and discipline, purchasing, maintaining inventory, and budgeting.
• Communication - Effectively communicate to your department staff, other departments, vendors, patients, visitors as well as central office staff.
• Safety - Utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions. Responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety precautions. Reporting equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion. Ensure the established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met. Follow infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures to ensure that a sanitary environment is achieved at all times. Follow proper reporting, isolation, and handwashing procedures/techniques.
• Punctuality - Consistent attendance and punctual arrival. Timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule. Respond to the paging system and or radio calls in a timely and appropriate manner.
Minimum Qualifications
• Proficient in use of computer applications (word processing, database, etc.) and other office equipment.
• Ability to supervise and direct personnel.
• Knowledge and application of cleaning methods and chemicals.
• Ability to write correspondence which reflect knowledge of spelling, grammar and composition, communication skills; manage multiple tasks.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards with completion OSHA-authorized training of the 10-hour and or 30-hour course with certificate.
• Demonstrate working experience maintaining Joint Commission accreditation.
Additional Considerations
• Preferred to have a Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician certification or must be able obtain certification within twelve months of employment.
