About The Role
The Section Manager (Northern Regulation) will manage the human, physical, financial, and information resources of the Northern Industrial Regulation Section, currently a team of eight.
The Section Manager Will Also:
- Work with various industries including renewables (windfarms), metallurgical and chemical processing, wood processing, food processing facilities, manufacturing and mining/ extractive sites.
- Provide strategic policy and authoritative professional advice on best practice environmental management and regulatory issues.
- Implement and manage the statutory system for the regulation of environmentally significant matters and activities.
- Contribute to staff leadership, business planning, effective management, and future directions of the Branch.
This is a permanent position located in Devonport or Launceston.
Our Ideal Candidate
- Has expertise in the scientific and regulatory aspects of environmental management.
- Can exercise professional judgement in relation to environmentally significant matters.
- Has management experience and the ability to mentor staff and develop the team.
- Has a degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the nature of the work to be undertaken.
