Salary/Position Classification

• 15.00 hourly, Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)
• 6-12 hrs/week hours per week
• 100% Remote Work Availability: No
• Hybrid Work Availability (requires some time on campus): No

Purpose Of Position

• Help students to become better independent learners by assisting them in the understanding of course material and answering their questions.
• This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Help students to become better independent learners by:
• Completion of CRLA-certified tutoring training
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and hours worked
• Other duties as assigned by the Tutor Coordinator
• Assisting students in the understanding of course material
• Identifying strengths and areas of improvement regarding the content of the coursework and study habits
• Answering student questions and guiding them through class assignments
• Conducting review sessions before exams

Minimum Requirements

• Must have taken Chemistry 115 and 116, 121 and 122, and have proof of understanding of course material, evidenced by a minimum grade of B in the course (or equivalent coursework) for which you will tutor
• Demonstrate good study skills and work habits
• Exhibit a service-oriented attitude by focusing on helping students succeed in their courses
• Possess awareness & understanding of varying identities and experiences
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills
• Demonstrate dependability
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check
