Requirements

  • Job Title: Certified HVAC Maintenance TechnicianDepartment: Building Maintenance
  • Status: FT Year Round Hourly
  • Reporting To: Heavy Maintenance Lead / Building Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Certified HVAC Maintenance Technician oversees the inspection, repair, and installation of heating,

ventilation, and air conditioning systems at Powder Mountain facilities. In addition to HVAC work, this role includes general maintenance support and collaboration with the facilities team to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on HVAC systems (boilers, furnaces, condensers, rooftop units, ducting).
  • Diagnose and repair heating and cooling issues quickly to minimize guest/employee disruption.
  • Support commercial kitchen ventilation systems at all Lodges and other food & beverage locations.
  • Assist with energy efficiency improvements and system upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of HVAC work in Limble, including parts used and completion notes.
  • Provide backup support in general skilled maintenance (plumbing, carpentry, minor electrical).
  • Train Light Maintenance Technicians on HVAC basics where appropriate.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotation for HVAC-related emergencies.
  • Comply with EPA refrigerant handling standards, OSHA, and Utah HVAC codes.

Requirements And/Or Qualifications:

  • EPA 608 Certification required; HVAC Journeyman License or NATE Certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience, ideally in resort, hospitality, or multi-building operations.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with both modern and legacy HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and system diagrams.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (Limble preferred).
  • Ability to work in challenging environments (cold, snow, altitude).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and willingness to assist across multiple trade areas.

Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:

  • Full range of body movements 
  • Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50lbs) 
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and twisting 
  • Must have command of senses – sight, hearing, touch, and smell 
  • Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception 
  • Walk on even/uneven/slippery terrain 
  • Climb/descend stairs/ladders 
  • Manual dexterity to operate manual tools and power equipment on a constant basis 
  • Safely handle hazardous materials

Working Environment:

Work is performed inside and outside. Candidate will be exposed to extreme temperatures (hot &cold), sun and wind exposure, inclement weather (rain, snow, ice), high altitudes (9,000ft+), moving machines/equipment, dust, wet, humid, dry, loud noises, and fumes from chemical conditions and frequent altitude changes.
